Victim Information

WHO IS CONSIDERED A VICTIM?

A Person who is a victim of a Class A, B or C Felony committed by an acquittee under the jurisdiction of the Board, the legal representative of such a person or a member of a homicide victim’s immediate family.

WHAT ARE THE RIGHTS OF THE VICTIM?

  • Right to be notified of all Board and court hearings concerning the acquittee’s status, Board or court decisions and if the acquittee escapes
  • Right to make a victim impact statement at any Board or court hearing concerning the acquittee

WHAT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE VICTIM?

The Victim must provide the Psychiatric Security Review Board with their current mailing address and phone numbers. If that information is not provided, it will be considered that the victim has waived their right to notification. The victim can reactivate their right to notification at any time by providing the Psychiatric Security Review Board with their mailing address and phone numbers.
